- דַּלII m. (b. h.; דָּלַל) thin, sparse; poor, needy. Kil. V, 1 כרם ד׳ a sparsely planted vineyard; Y. ib. 29d bot. ד׳ בגפניםוכ׳ poor concerning vines, and rich as regards labor (requiring as much labor as a thickly planted vineyard). Lev. R. s. 34, v. דִּלְדֵּל; a. fr.Pl. דַּלִּים. Sabb.104a, v. גימ״ל. Tanḥ Bhar 3 ד׳ ממע״ט they were void of good deeds. Num. R. s. 5 ד׳ במניין small in numbers; a. fr.דַּלֵּי דַלּוּת, v. דַּלּוּת.
